Who is SAILS at Bayside?

SAILS@B is a community outreach arm of the Anglican Churches of Manly, Wynnum, Waterloo Bay and Cleveland. It is aligned with, and forms a part of, the wider SAILS group covering the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

Canoeing

A committee representing the various Churches and Department of Communities meets monthly to provide direction. A part-time Programme Coordinator manages the organisational and administrative aspects. A part-time Youth Client Liaison Officer provides support to the participants.

The organisation currently has catamarans, kayaks, safety boat and safety gear running very successful monthly events at Breakwater Park, Wynnum and Foreshore Park, Cleveland with assistance from Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast SAILS as and when required.

SAILS@B has a close working relationship with Bayside Adolescent Boarding Incorporated (BABI), Bahloo Women’s Youth Shelter, Redlands
BoysTown, BCC Active and Open Spaces, School Chaplains and the Youth Support Coordinators.

SAILS@B Vision is to provide opportunities for youth at risk together with families and carers to overcome their difficulties, reach their potential and engage fully in community life.
