Greetings Friends,
It’s 2 years today since arriving in Namibia. Seems like the normal place to be these days. And that’s how it should be when you are where God wants you. So despite the “joys” of waiting on another Work Permit, I won’t be packing up soon, I believe. But, I will be packing in October to catch the flying kangaroo in Joburg.

This news might be even shorter than the last. Just paperwork, looking after the team, visiting church leaders in Windhoek, trying to move along Regional Committees (like pushing elephants at times, made tricky by having to find the animals first!!), sacking staff, fixing my car’s taxi bump after a year, and still trying to chase away a persistent cough. August is windy month, which blows up dust and smoke as it’s so dry now. Roll on September. But I did get my feet in the pool on 1st August – Yes!

Meanwhile, the team has plenty to do, with school visits and preparation.

Here are some items for your prayer:

  • 6 August SU Prayer Night at office – all-night
  • 14 Aug Volunteers Training Day
  • 25-29 Aug SU Secondary Camp, Windhoek
  • 26 Aug Friends Peter & Jenny and kids arrive to visit for 2 weeks. Peter & I were at Bible College together in late ’80s.
  • 30 Aug Volunteer Jessica from USA starts with us 1.5 days weekly for 3 months
  • 31 Aug Staff Vikki arrives home from a year of ministry development in England
  • 2-4 Sept Children’s Holiday Club in Otjiwarongo, 3 hours drive north.
  • 10-12 Sept Short version of Secondary Camp on the coast.

We have offers of funding for a number of these events, but that process is dragging. Please pray for release of needed funds. Pray for some other general funds that have been offered, but also not arrived. Budgeting gets trickly too!!! A gift has been received from Melbourne to assist Vikki’s salary for her first months back – thankyou.

There are times to stop and enjoy Africa. After coffee, we got in a truck for 2 hours and saw giraffes, rhinos, crocs, various antelope, lions etc. All for A$30 and just 20 minutes from Windhoek. Wonderful.

Blessings to you and yours,
Graeme
