Greetings SU Friend,

Scripture Union Conference has changed to Scripture Union Bible & Prayer

As you are not in Windhoek, we doubt you can come, but could you pray where you are? About the same time??

We commence on Friday this week. Arrive at Shalom Camp Centre between 5 and 6pm.

Our time is now to seek God for how we move forward, and will include a (heated) PRAYER ROOM which will be open all Friday night. We conclude 7pm Saturday.

Our SU sub-Region Director will lead us in listening to The Word of God, and we will have a number of prayer times together, as well as having prayer throughout the night.

If God gives you something to share with us here at SU, please tell us as soon as possible.

Please send this to others quickly, especially those who are/were in SU with you.

Some prayer points:

  • Thanks for 26 years of SU in Namibia, and the thousands who know Jesus today because of SU.

  • Thanks for team we have who give far more than officially required, so to share the Gospel with young Namibians.
  • Thanks for God’s provision in people, finance, assets, etc, so far.
  • Thanks for the open doors in schools to SU Groups, and for all the kids who fill our camps.
  • Pray the Gospel sinks deep into SU Group members, and SU volunteers too.
  • Pray for Namibia to read the Bible, and Scripture Union’s part in that.
  • Pray for a stronger National Committee, and thanks for the Standing Committee (the Exec of Nat C’tee). Pray for Chairman Mike and Treasurer Elrico. Also Phill, Hitjevi and Pastor Shiyandja.
  • Pray for God to show us who is to be future National Director – must be Namibian or permanent resident.
  • Pray for Graeme’s work permit to be extended after October.

Graeme: pray for wisdom to know which tasks to drive and when, and how.

Adam: pray for guidance in growing schools and camps ministry, and housing need for he and Emily. Also his application for citizenship to be smooth. He is officially Angolan, but lived in Namibia since age 9.

Cecilia: thanks for her very faithful admin work, and as the welcoming voice of SU.

Vikki: pray for her last 2 months in England ministry, and good accommodation when she returns in August.

Boniface: thanks for his great ministry in Erongo Region schools. Pray for he and Penina as on 25th they have to be at meeting for renewal of their refugee status.

Elmo: in June/July Elmo is travelling widely in southern Namibia, mostly visiting many schools. It’s cold down there in winter. Thanks for open doors – pray for teachers to volunteer as SU Teachers. Pray for his upcoming marriage to Faith late this year.

Stan and the Shalom Camp Centre Team: Shalom is looking better and better. Pray for Stan, Lance, Hitjevi and Graeme who are the Shalom Development Committee. Lots to do. Pray for resources to improve much more, good bookings for income, and vision to do it all for the Kingdom, in God’s way and time.
